Chingakham Jetlee of India wins bronze medal in Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships 2017

Young fencer Chingakham Jetlee of India won bronze medal in Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships 2017 Korat, Thailand. The young fencer of the Army Sports Institute, Pune won the bronze medal in boy’s epee individual event of cadet category. Jetlee, son of Chingakham Sharat and Ayingbi of Kyamgei Mayai Leikai who represented India for the first time and won the first ever medal at international level thanked coach Danyl Shchekotikhin​ and Deepak Singh for their guidance and support and his Army Sports Institute, Pune.

Earlier, he won silver medal in epee individual event at National Cadet U-17 Fencing Championships 2016-17, Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. He also won bronze medals in both individual and team epee events at the Junior National U-20 Fencing Championships 2016-17, Imphal and gold medal at the U-23 Youth National Fencing Championships 2016-17, Delhi in individual epee event.

The championships are being held at Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Mall, Nakhon Ratchasima in Thailand and organised by Thailand Fencing Federation and will conclude on 5th March of 2017.
